Make introducing and maintaining two important food allergens simpler with our Fish + Shellfish Bundle, featuring our Fish Powder and Prawn Powder in convenient, easy-to-use formats.

Fish and crustacean shellfish are among the major food allergens worldwide. Current allergen introduction guidelines recommend introducing common allergenic foods during the first year of life, once bub has started solids, and continuing to include tolerated allergens regularly as part of a varied diet.

Our powders make it easier to introduce fish and prawn in small, measured amounts and continue offering them regularly without needing to prepare fish or shellfish each time.

A simple introduction guide

When introducing each allergen, introduce fish and prawn separately, so you can identify any reaction to an individual food.

A gradual introduction may look like:

Day 1: ¼ teaspoon
Day 2: ½ teaspoon
Day 3: 1 teaspoon
Day 4: 2 teaspoons

Mix the recommended amount into a previously tolerated puree or meal and offer to bub.

Once an allergen has been introduced and tolerated without a reaction, regular ongoing exposure can help keep it familiar within bub's diet.

What's included

Fish Powder

A convenient way to introduce and maintain fish in bub's diet. Simply mix into a familiar puree, yoghurt or age-appropriate meal.

Fish can sometimes be difficult to include regularly, particularly in households where it isn't eaten often. Our powdered format makes regular exposure simple and convenient.

Each sachet contains: 50g Fish Powder, approximately 17 teaspoons for introduction and maintenance.

Prawn Powder

A simple way to introduce crustacean shellfish and continue offering prawn regularly after successful introduction.

Shellfish isn't always part of the weekly family shop, so our Prawn Powder provides an easy way to incorporate it into bub's diet without preparing prawns each time.

Each sachet contains: 50g Prawn Powder, approximately 17 teaspoons for introduction and maintenance.

Designed for introduction and beyond

This bundle helps make both the initial introduction and ongoing maintenance of fish and shellfish easier, particularly for busy families looking for a practical way to keep important allergens in bub's diet.

Suitability: When bub starts solids, around 6 months, and not before 4 months.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.

Important: Introduce each allergen individually before using them together. This product is not suitable for children with a confirmed allergy to fish, crustaceans or any listed ingredient.

A practical, evidence-informed way to make fish and shellfish allergen introduction easier for modern families.

FAQs

Everything else you wanted to know!

When can I start introducing the Nourishing Nippers allergens to my baby?

The most recent update to the USDA Dietary Guidelines (2020-2025) recommends introducing nutrient-dense complementary foods to infants at about six months. It is recommended to give age-appropriate allergenic foods along with complementary foods from about 6 months. This recommendation is in line with Australian recommendations from the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).

What is early exposure & why is it important?

Early exposure refers to the introduction of potential food allergens, at around 6 months (not before 4 months) of age when introducing solid foods.

It is now widely accepted, that early food introduction has a role in the prevention of food allergy, especially in higher-risk infants. This is thanks to the results of the Learning Early About Peanut (LEAP) study which was the first randomized controlled trial to demonstrate a significant (81%) relative risk reduction in the development of peanut early with early (aged 4-11 months) versus delayed (aged 5 years) peanut introduction.

What should I do if my baby has a reaction?

If you notice any of the above signs that suggest your child may be having an allergic reaction, stop feeding the food immediately and seek medical attention. If they are showing signs of a mild reaction, continue to monitor for signs of a severe reaction. You may wish to take your child into the doctor immediately.

If your child is having a severe reaction, lay them flat in your arms. DO NOT allow them to walk or stand upright. Call 911 immediately.

Is your packaging BPA free?

It sure is! We know how important BPA free packaging is to our customers and this was at the forefront of our mind when choosing the materials for our packaging.
